PLAYRAVEN ADVANCES REAL-TIME STRATEGY FOR MOBILE WITH THE WORLDWIDE iOS RELEASE OF WINTERSTATE™

Former Remedy, Rockstar and Supercell developers continue to explore uncharted territory with their second App Store release of 2016

HELSINKI - March 16, 2016 - PlayRaven has released Winterstate™ - a real-time strategy game built for touch from the ground up - now available worldwide for iPhone and iPad. Dubbed as a “Tactical Combat Trader,” Winterstate takes the hardcore real-time strategy genre and kick-starts it for a new wave of mobile players.

“We wanted t
o capture the thrill of AAA real-time strategy in a form that would entertain and delight a whole new generation of mobile gamers,” said Lasse Seppänen, co-founder and CEO at PlayRaven. “Winterstate has unique line-drawing mechanics, allowing players to battle with their vehicles in a way that feels completely smooth and natural on mobile touchscreen devices.”

Winterstate takes players to a world where a global climate disaster has torn apart the very fabric and economy of the USA, leaving ragged bands of survivors to roam the frozen landscape in all kinds of makeshift attack vehicles. Now it’s up to players across the world to join Knuckle Sam - a gritty homage to America’s famous Uncle Sam - and fight back against the bandits to protect the Winterstate. Draw and execute battle plans in real-time 3D conflict while raiding other players around the world. Trade precious goods and collect iconic yellow cabs, monster trucks and even fire engines, and fit them with massive flamethrowers, cannons and a whole arsenal of different weapons. Raid, trade and get paid!

Winterstate is the second of three all-new releases from PlayRaven launching in 2016, following the arrival of the galactic real-time strategy game Robocide™ in February.

Winterstate is out now as a free download via the App Store on iPhone and iPad devices. More information about the game can be found at www.winterstategame.com. For the latest news from PlayRaven, follow the company at www.facebook.com/PlayRavenInc or @PlayRavenInc on Twitter.

PLAYRAVEN UNLEASHES GALACTIC REAL-TIME STRATEGY MAYHEM WITH THE WORLDWIDE iOS RELEASE OF ROBOCIDE™

Former Remedy, Rockstar and Supercell developers launch the first of three fully original mobile games coming in 2016

HELSINKI - Feb. 24, 2016 - PlayRaven has released Robocide™, a galactic adventure and a brand new Micro RTS (micro real-time strategy) game, now available worldwide on iPhone and iPad devices. Created by ex-console and mobile industry veterans, Robocide lets players traverse the galaxy with a legion of robots at their command in order to fight against an imminent robot invasion.

“2016 is going to be a huge year of releases for us, and we’re excited to kick it off with Robocide,” said Lasse Seppänen, co founder and CEO at PlayRaven. “Our mission is to bring fresh new entertainment to the App Store, and Robocide fits the bill perfectly. We look forward to seeing how our fans and new players dive into the experience.”

Finnish Game Studio PlayRaven Completes
$4.1M USD Equity Investment Round

Norwegian VC fund Northzone joins Spymaster® developer’s ambitious quest
to discover and define the next great wave in mobile gaming

HELSINKI, FINLAND, December 10th, 2014 – Finnish game studio PlayRaven today announced it has secured a $4.125M USD (3.3M €) extended seed investment round, finalized on November 18, 2014. Norwegian venture capital fund Northzone (investors in Spotify) joins the company’s existing backers, which include Creandum (investors in digital media companies like Spotify and Nonstop Games), investor Jari Ovaskainen and London Venture Partners (both are early stage investors in Supercell). Boosting the total funding the organization has raised since 2013 to $7.5M USD, the new financing reflects and reinforces PlayRaven’s commitment to create entertainment franchises that storm the highest echelons of the app store charts.

“Mobile gaming has become stagnant. Tablets and smartphones have matured into a market even greater than television, and yet revenues are dominated by titles that are 18-24 months old,” said PlayRaven CEO Lasse Seppänen. “PlayRaven was formed to foster an environment that advances creativity and autonomy. Our promise to our peers and our audience is to put forth original properties that shake the mobile scene out of its comfort zone. The response to our first title, Spymaster, reinforced that we’re moving in the right direction.”

Established in 2013, Helsinki-based PlayRaven was founded by an independent team of AAA development veterans with the goal of disrupting the mobile gaming market with radically new mechanics and themes in the strategy genre. The studio’s roster of creative and technical artists leverages talent and experience gained from industry powerhouses like Remedy Entertainment, Rockstar Games, Supercell, Wooga and Unity.

PlayRaven’s Spymaster debuted globally on mobile devices in September 2014 and quickly rose to the top of Apple’s iPad strategy game charts in 99 countries. Players take up the role of supreme Allied spymaster during the Second World War, managing undercover agents deep behind enemy lines to steal information and thwart enemy forces. The free-to-play adventure features an authentic atmosphere that informs its gameplay systems, with an emphasis on individual player choice and consequences.

Details on the next big thing from PlayRaven will come in 2015. Until then, please visit www.playraven.com for the latest news and updates.
