Gestapo V.2

This should make it easier, right?

This should make it easier, right?

Finally, it's Friday! We're pushing Spymaster hard towards beta and lots of things have been happening this week.

One thing we've paid special attention to is the behavior of your worst enemy, the Gestapo "inspektors" that will search for traces of your organization and do their utmost to capture your agents and rip your hard-earned network apart.

Recently, we've been inviting some of our friends to try out the game and observe what happens. Well, let's just say that Gestapo is really getting their job done, even too effectively. After seeing how it all plays out we decided to re-design the AI so that while the inspektors are still pretty scary, the player will also get some breathing space. One way this will happen is that from time to time the enemy agents are recalled back to the Reich - obviously they must have some pressing business back home, too.

Which does raise one interesting observation though. When you are powerful enough you might start recruiting German underground resistance and extending your network into major cities inside the Reich itself. At that point all that breathing space provided by inspektors being recalled might actually make the German part of your network more likely to be found! Well, worry not, we'll make sure it's all nicely balanced. After all, don't you think it should be pretty dangerous to send your agents deep into the Reich itself?

Disclaimer: Game development is an iterative process where things tend to change many times over before the game ships. That's a fancy way of saying that we can't promise any exact features discussed in this blog.
